This week, the Baylor football program revealed an all-new look for the upcoming 2024 season.

🎙 INSIDE BAYLOR SPORTS

May 30th Edition:
What A Year

On today’s show we look back at some of our favorite moments
from Baylor Athletics during the 2023-2024 season.

From Nationally Ranked Basketball matchups to legendary comeback stories, we reminisce about Baylor's success this past year.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Smilin’ Shay. For the second straight season, Shaylon Govan earned the Stars & Stripes.

On Wednesday, Govan picked up the 15th All-American honor in program history, being selected unanimously to the NFCA All-America First Team.

It marks the first-ever unanimous first team selection in program history and her second straight season earning All-American accolades.

She is one of just three Bears to receive multiple All-American honors, joining Brette Reagan (three-time honoree) and Whitney Canion (two-time honoree).

A sophomore from Katy, Texas, Govan led BU with a .444 batting average, 11 home runs and 35 RBIs on the season. This is her second-straight season to reach double-digit home runs, and she holds a .739 slugging percentage, which is good for 4th  all-time at Baylor.

🔺 Smilin’ Shea (x2). Former Bear Shea Langeliers was ready for this season.

The work was put in and now, it’s paying off.

Now in his second full MLB season, Langeliers is heating up for the Oakland A’s, hitting .254 with five HRs and 14 RBIs in the month of May.

His 11 HRs this season are the tops among all MLB catchers.

🎙 SIC ‘EM POD: COLE POSEY

On this week’s episode we get to know Baylor Baseball’s Cole Posey,
a fifth year senior from Georgetown, Texas.

Growing up in a Baylor family, Cole was a huge fan of the Bears,
and always dreamed of suiting up for them one day. And after
a few stops around the country, that dream came true 2 years ago.

In his final year, the do-it-all first baseman played some of the best ball of his career, while also pursuing some big dreams away from the diamond.

We like our Brew hot n’ fresh. But we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

🔺 Leveling Up. What a week these Bears enjoyed out west!

Last week, eight different BU student-athletes headed to Los Angeles and were participants at the annual Black Student-Athlete Summit, which brought together athletes and professionals from across the country for a week of important conversations, discussions and much more.

Participating at the event for Baylor were Layla Alexander (A&T), Sarah Andrews (Women’s Basketball), Bama Bett (Football), Yaya Felder (Women’s Basketball), Kaian Roberts-Day (Football), Mariah Polk (A&T), Jada Walker (Women’s Basketball) and Richard Reese (Football).

🔺 Johnny On The Spot. Earlier this week, Johnny Keefer posted the best-ever NCAA Championship by a member of the Baylor men’s golf program.

Because of that finish, the good news keeps rolling in for the BU standout.

Because of his 11th-place finish, Keefer climbed to 25th in the annual PGA TOUR U rankings, which earned him exempt status for PGA TOUR Americas in 2024, as well as the second stage of the PGA TOUR Q-School.
