Once again, the Baylor men’s and women’s teams are headed to the Big Dance with action kicking off this Friday for both squads.
BU fans, you’ll get a full Friday of action with the men’s team tipping off at 11:40 am for a nice brunch, followed later for an evening tip for the women’s squad who hit the floor in Blacksburg at 5 pm CST.

🔺 Bearing Down. The bats are WIDE AWAKE now.
The 19th-ranked Baylor softball squad enjoyed an offensive explosion on Tuesday, racking up a season-high 14 hits in a 14-4 run-rule defeat of Houston Christian.
Five different Bears had multi-hit performances led by Shaylon Govan’s two hits and four RBIs on the day.
🔺 Dennis The Menace. For decades, Dennis was always a menace to good ole Mr. Wilson.
Nowadays, he’s just a menace opposing defenses.
Ok, maybe it’s a different Dennis, but we’re pretty fond of our Dennis as he added another accolade to his resume for the 2023-24 season.
RayJ Dennis, senior guard on Baylor’s men’s hoops squad, was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 8 Second Team
The NABC nod is just the latest in a long line for the Plainfield, Ill., native, who was also voted to the All-Big 12 Second Team by the media and conference coaches, as well as the All-Big 12 Newcomer Team.
🔺 They’reee Bacckkk. The time has come. Spring football is official in action.
A new look Baylor football squad hit the practice fields yesterday for the first day of spring with six new coaches, 12 transfers, seven first-semester freshmen and pretty much a new offense and defense.

In Tuesday’s win over HCU, Shaylon Govan reached base safely in all four of her plate appearances to push her on-base percentage to .639 for the season.
She’s currently on pace to set a program record as McKenzie Wilson holds the single-season record at .534.

With Tuesday’s performance, Govan leaped into the top spot after entering the week second in the country. She is ahead of Florida’s Skylar Wallace (.621) and is one of only five players in the country with an on-base percentage above .600.
