🐻 The Official Daily Newsletter For Baylor Athletics

Good Morning Baylor Fam. During the summer, plenty of folks head across the pond to enjoy the sights and sounds from across the world.

This week, a trio of Bears are doing the same, except, it’s a business trip for them.

We’ll preview a big week on the courts and more in today’s Brew! Check it out below!

🎾 Holding Court
🏀 Welcome To Waco
🎙 All New Sic ‘Em Pod with Avery Skinner
🐻 And much, much more!

🎾 HOLDING COURT

For the tennis world, there’s not many places more hollowed than the grass courts at Wimbledon.

This week, three of our own will step onto those coveted courts as Charlie Broom (Singles & Doubles), Constantin Frantzen (Doubles) & John Peers (Doubles) are all in action in London this week.

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: AVERY SKINNER

On this week’s episode we are joined by Avery Skinner, a former
Baylor Volleyball star who is set to suit up for Team USA in this
summer’s Paris Olympics.

Avery, the daughter of Baylor basketball legend Brian Skinner, won the
national championship with Kentucky before coming to finish her
collegiate career at her father’s alma mater. Now, after shining in
international play, Skinner is looking to help push Team USA
to a second consecutive gold medal.

🏀 WELCOME TO WACO!

The Bears got a little bigger last week.

Coach Drew and the Baylor men’s hoops squad officially welcomed 6-foot-10 big man, Marino Dubravčić to its front court last Friday.

The Split, Croatia, native has international experience including a solid showing at the FIBA U18 European Championship in 2022 where he averaged 6.7 points and 3.9 rebounds across seven games for Croatia. His high-water mark in the event was a 12-point, eight-rebound performance against North Macedonia.

The Croatian joins one of the highest-ranked recruiting classes in the nation in V.J. Edgecombe, Rob Wright and Jason Asemota. Additionally, BU has added three graduate transfers in Cal guard, Jalen Celestine, Miami forward Norchad Omier and former Duke guard Jeremy Roach

🎟 YOU PICK IT!

This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.

The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.

The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

This is certainly not John Peers’ first trip to Wimbledon as the Baylor legend has quite a history with the venue.
