🔺 Road Warriors. While the Baylor football team has a program record eight home games this fall, the road seems to be treating the Bears quite nicely.
The Green & Gold used a gutty, hard-fought effort to come away with a 32-29 win in the first-ever meeting between BU and new Big 12 foe Cincinnati on Saturday.
Junior QB Blake Shapen had his third 300+ yard passing performances of the season, hooking up with his classmate Ketron Jackson Jr. for a career-best seven catches and 130 yards.
Redshirt sophomore Isaiah Hankins drilled a career-high four field goals, all coming from 40+ yards and included a career-long 54 yarder.
Defensively, veteran Byron Vaughns continued to bring the energy, racking up six tackles, two of which were for a loss, and he picked up his first career TD with a fumble recovery for a score.

🔺 Pretty In Pink. If you didn’t know how much this weekend meant to the BU volleyball squad, they definitely showed you in their play.
On a weekend where they honored those who have fought and are fighting Breast Cancer, the Bears showed how much it meant to them to play for the cause, sweeping the weekend series from 24th-ranked UCF to pick up two critical Big 12 victories.
BU has now won five straight and six of the past seven headed down final few weeks of the regular season.
On the weekend, Elise McGhee continued her strong play with 32 kills on the weekend, while redshirt sophomore Riley Simpson was right there with her, adding 31 kills to the attack. Simpson now has five double-digit kill games in the past six matches for the Green & Gold.
Averi Carlson added another 50+ assist match with 52 assists in Saturday’s win. She had 85 on the weekend and surpassed the 2,000 career assist mark.
🔺 Headed Down To H-Town. 90 minutes is all that separates the Baylor futbol squad from a return to the Big 12 Tournament.
Tonight, the Bears head to Houston for the regular season finale for both squads. A win or tie for Baylor clinches a spot in the postseason with the tournament set to begin Saturday in Round Rock.
The Green & Gold have lost just one match in the past six outings (a 1-0 road loss at #21 TCU) and are riding the offensive output of Tyler Isgrig (6 g, 7 a, 19 pts) and Ashley Merrill (9 g, 1 a, 19 pts).
Kickoff tonight in Houston is set for 6 p.m.
