On today's Wednesday edition of Inside Baylor Sports, we're joined
by the Baylor Bear insider Jerry Hill who gets us up to speed on
all things happening in Baylor Athletics.

Plus, we dive into our weekly fan mailbag and answer our

🎥 BAYLOR+: THE SIC 'EM POD

On this week's episode we're catching up with
legendary Baylor linebacker Derrel Luce.

Luce begain his career with the Bears in 1971 and played under
Head Coach Grant Teaff for several years, until ultimately
becoming a captain and All-American in 1974.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Setting The Stage. How do you set the stage for two of the top-20 volleyball teams in the country coming to town? By picking up a fourth straight sweep of course.

That’s what the #23-ranked Baylor volleyball squad did on Tuesday night, traveling to Houston and coming away with a hard-fought 3-0 sweep of Rice.

The Bears are now a perfect 4-0 with all four matches being 3-0 sweeps, which sets the stages for the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge this weekend in Waco when #6 Wisconsin and #18 Minnesota are on the docket for the Green & Gold.

🔼 Walk It Off, In Style. 2024 has been a career year for former Bear Shea Langeliers.

On Monday night, he added to that with yet another two HR game to bring his career-high in HRs to 25, joining Max Muncy as the only BU alum to hit 25+ HRs in a single-season.

With a month to go, Langeliers has career-highs in homeruns (25), RBI (68) and batting average (.223).

🔼 Arms Race. Not only will Saturday’s matchup be against one of the nation’s top team in Utah, but it also brings together two of the most seasoned and successful QBs in the country.

With three total TDs (two passing, one rushing) in the season-opening victory over Tarleton, Dequan Finn continued his success that he’s shown throughout his collegiate career.

Among active NCAA QBs, Finn ranks 25th with 7,271 career passing yards, ninth with 91 total TDs responsible for and 13th with 65 career passing TDs. 

The matchup on Saturday faces him off with Utah's Cam Rising, who ranks 33rd among active QBs in passing TDs (51) and 49th in passing yards (5,826)

🎥 BAYLOR+: THE MIRACLE

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of the most inspiring underdog stories in college football history, Baylor+ announced today the upcoming premiere of a new original documentary, The Miracle on the Brazos. 

The film tells the complete story of the 1974 Baylor Bears football team under legendary head coach Grant Teaff, who defied all odds to capture their first undisputed conference title in 50 years.  

Predicted to finish last in the Southwest Conference, Baylor dropped its first two games of the 1974 season before the Bears won 8 of their next 9 – including the iconic comeback victory against Texas – en route to an appearance in the Cotton Bowl.
