🔺 Fill Up Ferrell. With BU football on the road, it gives the Green & Gold faithful a great opportunity to fill up the Ferrell Center for a big time weekend for the 20th-ranked Baylor volleyball team.
The Bears enter this weekend with #24 UCF having won four of their past five matches, including a sweep in Cincinnati last weekend.
It’ll be an awesome weekend at Ferrell as Saturday is the Cub Club Event of the month with first serve set for 2 p.m., while Sunday is the program’s annual Pink Game to honor those who have fought and are fighting Breast Cancer.
On the court, BU will have to be sharp defensively as the Golden Knights lead the country in aces per set. Junior Elise McGhee has led the Bears in the past few matches and now has over 200 kills on the season for the Green & Gold.
🔺 Eyes On Aijha. Let’s make it ✌️.
For the second straight season, BU women’s basketball star Aijha Blackwell earned a spot on the Cheryl Miller Award Preseason Watch List.
Named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer, the annual award in its seventh year recognizes the top small forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Blackwell saw limited action last year due to injury, making eight appearances in her first season with the Bears. A transfer from Missouri, Blackwell spent three seasons with the Tigers and was a three-time all-SEC performer. She led the Tigers during the 2021-22 campaign with 14.9 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, which was the highest single-season rebounding average in Missouri program history.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA
Apparently Averi Carlson really listened to her parents and teachers growing up because she sure does love sharing the love.
A little more than halfway through the 2023 season, Carlson finds herself just 43 assists away from 2,000 in her young career.
This year, the sophomore from Lucas, Texas ranks 19th in the country in assists per set (10.59). That number ranks third-best among underclassmen.
She’s currently on pace to enter the top-10 all-time in career assists at Baylor after just two seasons.
Who is the all-time leader in career assists?
Got a guess?
