Jan. 4th Edition:
And still undefeatedā¦.
On todayās show we discuss last nightās 71-50 win over TCU for Baylor Womenās Basketball as the Bears improve 13-0 on the season, and 1-0 in Foster Pavilion.
Weāll also visit on the win over Texas with 2019 National Champion Caitlin Bickle, plus we look at a key ingredient to Nicki Collenās success.
š STOCK UP
šŗ Lucky No. 13. The college hoops world turned their eyes to Waco at halftime when TCU, who hadnāt won in Waco, was up four on the Bears.
And then the second half happened.
Sophomore Bella Fontleroy led the way with a career-best 21 points as the Bears blew past the Horned Frogs, by a final of 71-50, to pick up their fourth top-25 victory of the season and improve to 13-0. They are now just one of six undefeated teams in the country.
Sarah Andrews connected on four 3-pointers to finish with 16 points, while Yaya Felder added 13 points for the Green & Gold, who has now beaten TCU 36 consecutive times.
šŗ Ross The Boss. He truly is a boss.
Former Bear Ross Matiscik continues to etch his name amongst the best in the NFL and this week, he earned his rightful place being named to his first-ever NFL Pro Bowl in his fourth season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He currently leads the Jaguars with eight special teams tackles, which ranks first among all long snappers. Heās also forced and recovered a fumble this season for the AFC south leading squad.
The 2024 Pro Bowl games will take place in Orlando, Fla. beginning on Thursday, February 1. The Pro Bowl Games are a multi-day AFC vs. NFC competition with skills showdowns and a seven versus seven flag football game to be played at Camping World Stadium on Sunday, February 4.
šŗ Walkinā The Walk. Before hitting the court at Foster for the first time, Jada Walker walked the walk in her own way.
Walker, a junior transfer from Kentucky, led the way for the Bears 85-79 upset of then-fifth ranked Texas this past weekend in Austin.
The Richmond, Va. native finished with a team- and season-high 19 points in a season-high 37 minutes of action. She became the fifth Bear to register 19-plus points in a game this season and it was the first time Walker led Baylor in scoring this year.
