🔺 Are You Not Entertained? One thing can’t be debated. The Baylor men’s hoops program won’t back down from any challenge.

In another marquee matchup for the upcoming 2023-24 season, the Bears will travel to Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Pistons, to take on perennial national power Michigan State on December 16th.

The Bears and Spartans will meet for the third time, with BU holding the 2-0 series advantage after two wins in the Battle '4' Atlantis in 2016 and 2021.

The full non-conference schedule will be announced in the coming weeks, but this matchup is already added to showdowns with Duke, Oregon State, Auburn and Seton Hall.

🔺 Profile For The Hall. In early November, seven former Bears will descend upon Waco and be enshrined into the Baylor Athletic Hall of Fame.

These seven former Bears were instrumental parts of their programs and ambassadors both on the field, in the classroom and after graduating from Baylor.

Over the coming weeks, our own Baylor Insider, Jerry Hill, will take a deeper look into each one of their stories.

First up, J.D. Walton, the All-American center who went on to a six-year NFL career with the Denver Broncos, and is now back coaching high school football right here in Texas.

🔺 Path to Paris. Former Bear Nuni Omot is making history.

Omot, who played two seasons with the Bears (2016-18), has shined in the professional ranks overseas and now, he’s booked a ticket to the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Recently, Omot, who is playing as part of the South Sudan national team, helped the squad book its FIRST-EVER berth to the Olympic Games.

Since departing Baylor, Omot has played for 12 different professional organizations in nine different countries.

His work ethic and dedication to the grind has paid off as he was the Basketball African League MVP and league champion and now is headed to the Olympics.

🔺 Block Party. We challenged y’all to bring and you BROUGHT IT. What an atmosphere on Friday night at Ferrell as our #16 Bears toppled #18 Rice, 3-1, in the 2023 home opener. Baylor served up 15 blocks in the victory.

🔺 Road Warriors. Baylor’s futbol squad has spent plenty of time bonding on the road in the first few weeks of the 2023 season and that road experience continued on Sunday. The Bears used two first half goals to prevail in a 2-0 road win at Butler to improve to 3-1 on the season with all three wins being shutouts. The 3-1-1 start is the best since 2019 and this is the first time since 2017 that the Bears have recorded three shutouts in the first four games of the season. Now, Baylor returns to Betty Lou Mays Field for a six-game homestand!

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

No Soup For You. Sunday’s 2-0 road win at Butler for the Baylor futbol squad was its third shutout of the 2023 season and we’re only five games into the year.

How many times in program history have the Bears posted three or more shutouts in the first five games of a season?

Got a guess?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Five times, including this year.

In the 27 seasons of Baylor women’s soccer, the Bears have posted three or more shutouts in the first 5 games on five occasions, including this season.

This year, the Bears have shutout victories over Oregon (2-0), Louisiana Tech (3-0) and Butler (2-0). Two of those three shutouts have come on the road.

🐻 Have a great Tuesday, y’all!
