📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Nothing Beats A Reese(‘s). It’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t love a good Reese’s candy.

Reese is one of just 13 Big 12 players on the list.

Already a preseason All-Big 12 honoree, Reese was tabbed a Freshman All-American in 2022 after shattering Baylor's rookie rushing record with 972 yards on 198 carries. He added 14 touchdowns, which ranked fourth-best in BU single-season history, and finished just 28 yards shy of becoming the 16th 1,000-yard rusher in program history.

The Bellville, Texas, native logged three games of 100+ yards rushing and was twice named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week in 2022.

For his efforts, Reese was also named the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year by the league coaches and Offensive Freshman of the Year in the state of Texas by Dave Campbell's Texas Football a year ago.

🔺 Super Send-Off. Who doesn’t love some ice cream with some friends?

That’s exactly what the Baylor women’s hoops squad did on Sunday and now, let’s help send them off!

Be sure to come on out to the Ferrell Center at 9:15 a.m. and cheer on our girls as they head overseas!

🔺 Road Trip!!! Gather your friends, join your Baylor fam and head on out to Orlando for an awesome road trip to one of our newest conference foes.

Maybe we’ll even run into the giant mouse that roams around down there.

🔺 Oui Oui. Rosetta Stone on Speed Dial, please!

That’s right, our Baylor Bears are headed across the pond for an experience of a lifetime with a 10-day trip through France.

These international trips are permitted by the NCAA every four years and allows the team to learn new cultures, see things they’ve never experienced and play a few exhibition games in the process.

Make sure to follow @BaylorMBB on all social media accounts and right here in the Brew to catch all the sights and sounds of the upcoming trip!

🐻 ICYMI….

🔺 Welcome Back, Old Friend. One of the founding members of the Big 12 is coming home.

Late last week, it was released that Colorado will be rejoining the Big 12 conference beginning in 2024-25.

The Buffs were one of the original group of schools that made up the Big 12 conference when it formed in 1996.

🔺 Two Shots, Two Opportunities. You might have heard of this guy before, he kinda just set the single-season rushing record at Baylor in 2021. He’s kind of fast.

That’s right, Abram Smith is taking his talents to NFL camps as the former Bear was invited to tryouts with the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders.

Smith was in camp with the New Orleans Saints, but was among the last cuts before the season started.

This past spring, he was the first overall pick in the 2023 XFL draft and had a standout season with the DC Defenders, who were the North Division Champions and posted a 9-1 record.

Smith was outstanding in those 10 games, rushing for nearly 800 yards and seven TDs. He was named to the 2023 All-XFL First Team.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 32 DAYS

Over 5,000 passing yards.
Over 350 completions.
Over 6,000 yards of total offense.
32 passing TDs.

All four of those were program records when “Commander Cody” Carlson graduated from Baylor and moved onto the NFL. The 32 passing TDs now sits seventh all-time in school history.

Carlson went on to enjoy a seven-year NFL career with the Houston Oilers, starting 19 games over that span and primarily serving as a backup to NFL Hall of Famer Warren Moon.

The Dallas native now resides in Waco with his family and is active with the B Foundation and current Baylor student-athletes.

16 Days. That’s right folks.

We are just 16 days away from the start of the 2023-2024 Baylor athletic calendar. The Baylor women’s squad kicks things off (literally) when they travel to Oregon to take on the Ducks on August 17th at 9 pm CST.

Two weeks later, the soccer, volleyball, cross country and football teams are ALL in action. Block off that weekend and make sure you’ve got the Green and Gold ready!

The Bears are coming.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

We’re Baacckkk. The 2022 Baylor women’s soccer team was loaded with young talent.

That talent was evident from the start and continued all fall. The best part about young talent? They’re back next year even better!

And that’s the case with the Bears, who are the first Baylor team in action on August 17th.

In 2022, the Bears tallied 44 total points. How many of those came from returners for this upcoming season?

Got a guess?
