🔺 See You At Betty Lou. It’s been two weeks since the Baylor women’s soccer program started their 2023 season.

Now, they’re FINALLY back at Sweet, Sweet Betty Lou.

The Bears (1-1-1) will host a solid Louisiana Tech squad in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. La Tech has scored seven goals in its first four games of the season and bring a potent offensive attack to Waco.

Baylor boasts a balanced attack with four different Bears having scored this fall. Newcomers Tyler Isgrig and Callie Conrad both tallying a goal and assist to lead the squad in points.

🔺 Raising the Bar, Literally. When the BU futbol squad takes the pitch tonight, they don’t have to look far for motivation to raise the bar and reach new heights.

In her ninth season as the program’s athletic trainer, Kristen Bartiss has not only built strong relationships with the student-athletes, but she’s done it through being a shining example herself.

Bartiss has done road races, Spartan races and recently, she’s jumped into the world of HYROX.

🔺 Red Carpet Ready. Who doesn’t love an exclusive premiere?

Baylor women’s basketball is inviting the entire Baylor family out to a brand new "Premiere Night” event, hosted at the new Hurd Welcome Center on September 19.

Formerly known as the Welcome Back Dinner and hosted by the Tip-Off Club, there will be two showings of a film created and edited by Baylor Athletics' Assistant Director of Video Production, Sam Beckmeier, beginning at 6:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the showings, head coach Nicki Collen and the student-athletes will be previewing the upcoming season.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

On The Right Foot. Two weeks ago, Baylor futbol opened the 2023 season with a 2-0 road win at Oregon.

In that win, freshman Skylar Zinnecker found the back of the net in the 74th minute to score her first collegiate goal in her collegiate debut.

When was the last time a Baylor freshman scored in the season opener?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Michaela Gorman in 2019.

Ironically, Gorman is a native of Oregon, the same place that Zinnecker scored that goal in the season opener two weeks ago.

Gorman scored one more goal in 2019, but suffered an injury the following season that cut her Baylor career short.
