🎙 INSIDE BAYLOR SPORTS

May 29th Edition:
The Oregon Trail

Baylor Men's Golf, including a closer look at their
National Championship run.

Plus, we discuss Track and Field's performance at
the West Prelims, and preview the Outdoor
Championships next week in Eugene.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Here’sssss Johnny. On Monday, Johnny Keefer posted the best-ever NCAA Championship by a member of the Baylor men’s golf program.

Because of that finish, the good news keeps rolling in for the BU standout.

Because of his 11th-place finish, Keefer climbed to 25th in the annual PGA TOUR U rankings, which earned him exempt status for PGA TOUR Americas in 2024, as well as the second stage of the PGA TOUR Q-School.

🔺 Poll Position. As school wraps up for the year, there’s one program left showing out for the Bears.

Next week, 10 members of the Baylor track & field program will head to Eugene, Ore. for the NCAA Championships.

Those Bears will do so as members of two top-25 programs with BU coming in at #20 and #24 in the latest national rankings headed into the final event of the spring.

🔺 Leveling Up. What a week these Bears enjoyed out west!

Last week, eight different BU student-athletes headed to Los Angeles and were participants at the annual Black Student-Athlete Summit, which brought together athletes and professionals from across the country for a week of important conversations, discussions and much more.

Participating at the event for Baylor were Layla Alexander (A&T), Sarah Andrews (Women’s Basketball), Bama Bett (Football), Yaya Felder (Women’s Basketball), Kaian Roberts-Day (Football), Mariah Polk (A&T), Jada Walker (Women’s Basketball) and Richard Reese (Football).

🎙 SIC ‘EM POD: COLE POSEY

On this week’s episode we get to know Baylor Baseball’s Cole Posey,
a fifth year senior from Georgetown, Texas.

Growing up in a Baylor family, Cole was a huge fan of the Bears,
and always dreamed of suiting up for them one day. And after
a few stops around the country, that dream came true 2 years ago.

In his final year, the do-it-all first baseman played some of the best ball
of his career, while also pursuing some big dreams away from the diamond.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

Among the 10 Bears headed to Oregon next week is junior De'montray Callis, who earned a spot in not one, not two, but 3️⃣ tickets to the NCAA Championships.
