BU had a huge day on the track and in the field as the Green & Gold kicked off a big few days of action in Arkansas.

Time to shock the softball world, again….

Tomorrow, the BU softball squad hits the field in the Sunshine State looking
to battle their first WCWS appearance since 2017 when they take on #4 Florida.

First pitch in Gainesville on Friday on ESPNU is set for 11 am CST.

🔺 Just Getting Started. Less than 24 hours of action and the Bears are already leaving their mark.

BU had 6️⃣ student-athletes competing in the first day of NCAA West Prelims and ALL of them advanced to the next round.

Highlighting the day was junior Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi, who won his second NCAA West Prelim of his career with a 270’ 9” mark that not only was the gave him the top Division I mark this year, but also set a new West Prelims record.

Nnamdi now punches his third straight ticket to the NCAA Championships in Oregon next month.

🔺 Facing Trials. This year has been a record setting one for senior Alexis Brown.

But those records didn’t come easily.

The Kennedale, Texas, native has set school records in the event indoors (21-6 ¼) and outdoors (22-5), a mark she set in winning the Big 12 Outdoor title.

Accepted to Baylor's MBA program after graduating in May with a degree in health, kinesiology and leisure studies, Brown qualified in the 100 meters, long jump and 4x100 relay for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.

preparing for Super Regionals this week as they get ready
to play the No. 4 Florida Gators in Gainesville.

🎙 SIC ‘EM POD: SYDNEY COLLAZOS

On today’s episode we get to know Baylor Softball’s Sydney Collazos,
a fifth senior from Georgetown, Texas. 

From the time she stepped on campus in 2021, Sydney has been an
important part of Coach Moore’s lineups, both on the diamond, and
in the dugout as an extrovert and a leader. 

Now, in her final year in the green and gold, Sydney has embraced
every moment with her team, and is looking forward to pursuing
a career in the medical field when her time at Baylor is done.

Last weekend in Lafayette, Emily Hott led off two of the four regional games with long balls.
