🎥 BAYLOR+: THE MIRACLE

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of the most inspiring underdog stories in college football history, Baylor+ announced today the upcoming premiere of a new original documentary, The Miracle on the Brazos. 

The film tells the complete story of the 1974 Baylor Bears football team under legendary head coach Grant Teaff, who defied all odds to capture their first undisputed conference title in 50 years.  

Predicted to finish last in the Southwest Conference, Baylor dropped its first two games of the 1974 season before the Bears won 8 of their next 9 – including the iconic comeback victory against Texas – en route to an appearance in the Cotton Bowl.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: THREE DAYS

Wearing a single-digit number at Baylor is special and recently
those recipients were announced, including returning
starter Devyn Bobby, who will don #3 this fall.

The DeSoto, Texas native has played in every game since stepping on campus, including starting all 12 games last fall at the safety position. He finished second on the team in total tackles with 76 and led the team in
pass break-ups with six, while also adding a TFL and one INT.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Going Global. While their classmates are starting classes in Waco, three Bears are getting a global experience to start the school year.

Rising sophomore Molly Haywood and incoming freshmen Janae De Gannes and Jacobus Van Rensburg are all currently competing at the U20 World Championships in Lima, Peru.

Both Haywood and De Gannes got the day started on Tuesday by advancing to the final in the pole vault and long jump, respectively. De Gannes takes to the runway in her final today at 5 pm, while Haywood’s final round is set for Thursday at 3:55 pm.

Van Rensburg capped off a big Tuesday for the trio of Bears by clinching the silver medal in the shot put with a personal best toss of 60’ 1/2”.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. While the season is still months away, the preparation is well underway for the Baylor baseball program.

This past week, the Bears officially welcomed nine newcomers the the family, including four transfers, four junior college additions and one true freshman.
