Over the past few years, it’s tough to find someone
that has embodied being a Baylor Bear more than Matt Jones.

The sixth-year LB is back for one last ride in Waco and he’s ready to leave behind a legacy after playing in 49 games since he arrived at Baylor in 2019.

Jones led the team in tackles last year with 82 and has racked up 214
in his career, which includes a 2022 All-Big 12 accolade. He also has 25.5 TFLs, eight sacks, 12 pass deflections and three force fumbles.

🔼 Turning It Up. Folks, it’s about to get real.

Two weeks ago, the Baylor soccer squad got the 2024-25 athletic calendar underway.

Now, we’re taking it up a notch as three more BU programs enter the group chat with cross country, volleyball and football all opening their 2024 campaigns this weekend.

🔼 Double The Pleasure, Double The Fun. A trip to Hawaii is never a bad thing. When you throw in two thrilling wins, it takes it to another level.

That’s exactly what the Baylor soccer squad did this past week and two of their leaders were recognized for their play during those victories.

Azul Alvarez and Callie Conrad were named Big 12 Goalkeeper and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively.

This marks the Bears' first time with two selections to win a Big 12 weekly award since Sarah Norman (defensive) and Jennifer Wandt (goalkeeper) during the 2021 season. It is also the first time to have a Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week since Jackie Crowther in 2018.

🎥 BAYLOR+: THE MIRACLE

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of the most inspiring underdog stories in college football history, Baylor+ announced today the upcoming premiere of a new original documentary, The Miracle on the Brazos. 

The film tells the complete story of the 1974 Baylor Bears football team under legendary head coach Grant Teaff, who defied all odds to capture their first undisputed conference title in 50 years.  

Predicted to finish last in the Southwest Conference, Baylor dropped its first two games of the 1974 season before the Bears won 8 of their next 9 – including the iconic comeback victory against Texas – en route to an appearance in the Cotton Bowl.

Earlier this month, Baylor Athletics introduced an innovative collaboration to further support the fandom of passionate Baylor fans worldwide.
