📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Keep Dancing. It’s been eight straight years that the Baylor volleyball program has made it to the dance.

And for eight straight years, the Bears just kept on dancing as BU rolled past seventh-seeded JMU, 3-0, to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the eighth consecutive season.

The Bears were led by Elise McGhee with 16 kills and five aces, while Manuela Bibinbe, Alicia Andrew and Allie Sczech each had four blocks. Averi Carlson had 31 assists and Sophia Keene led the team with seven digs.

Up next, is a date tonight with the No. 8 overall seed, Kentucky. First serve is set for 6 pm tonight.

🔺 Party Like Its 1975. The average price of gas was $0.57/gallon. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest was the top playing movie. Rhinestone Cowboy was topping Billboard Charts.

It’s safe to say using those facts, it’s been a little while.

The 13th-ranked Baylor women’s team rolled to a 85-61 road win over SMU on Thursday night to improve to 6-0. Its the first time since 1975-76 that BU scored 80-plus in six straight wins to start the season.

Sophomore Darianna Littlepage-Buggs had her first double-double of the season with a season-high 24 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Green & Gold.

Dre'Una Edwards had her second double-double of the season with 10 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and three steals, while Bella Fontleroy had 17 points and six boards.

🔺 New Face In The Fam. Widely regarded as one of the best offensive minds in college football, Jake Spavital is joining the Baylor Fam.

Thursday, head coach Dave Aranda announced the addition of Spavital to the Bears football coaching staff as the new offensive coordinator and QBs Coach.

An elite offensive mind, Spavital returns to the Lone Star State after spending the 2023 season as California's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

He is widely considered one of the best offensive minds in college football and brings a bevy of experience to Waco, including four years as the head coach at Texas State. He has coordinated offenses that ranked among the nation's top-30 in FEI in five of six years between West Virginia, Cal and Texas A&M, including a No. 10 mark in 2018 at WVU, also checking in No. 30 in 2017 at WVU, No. 22 at Cal in 2016, No. 12 at Texas A&M in 2014 and No. 2 in 2013 at Texas A&M.
